Behind the Scenes: Men's Personal Shopping & Styling

CHECK THIS STYLISH GUY OUT!

But don't look too closely... his sleeves haven't been tailored yet!

Yes, I work with men too! And I have a special place in my heart for men's fashion because it's just so much more practical and it comes quite naturally to me.

Last Friday I embarked on a shopping trip in Downtown Kingston with a retired male client from Napanee who needed help building a fresh fall/winter wardrobe that reflected his true personal style.

We started the process as I normally do, with a Personal Style Assessment and curated Style Board. This is an important step in our relationship, as it allows me to understand where you're at and where you'd like to go with your style. It also enables me to curate an image-board of your ideal personal style. We use the board as a guide when shopping and styling outfits to keep us honed in on what you really want to wear.

We determined that my client's ideal style is a mix of classic and rugged. He likes to wear jeans and a blazer (classic), but he wants the jeans to fit a little loose and the blazer to be relaxed (rugged). With this in mind, I set out a few days before our trip to see what stores would have what we needed.

Our final shopping list was as follows:

  • 4 Basic Long Sleeves

  • 3 Button-Up Shirts

  • 2 Cardigans

  • 1 Utility Jacket

  • 1 Blazer

  • 1 Pair of Jeans

  • 2 Pairs of Chinos

  • 1 Dressy Winter Coat

And guess what?!

We found it all, under budget! Now my next task is to style a collection of outfits via his Virtual Closet so he can maximize each piece and knows how to wear em all.

Shoutout to Trailhead Kingston and Chris James Kingston for having exactly what we needed to complete this gentleman's Fall/Winter Wardrobe.
